Colossians 3:14-15 (NKJV) 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Here are two fruits of the Spirit. Put on the love of Christ. And the peace of God will rule in your heart. The Holy Spirit of God produces in us many virtues, but they are all established by love. The agape love of God. The love of Christ holds together all aspects of our character. Yes, we can express other good Christian virtues, but without love they are meaningless. Whatever we do must be done with a genuine heart filled with the love of God. Our willingness to serve must be born out love. The love of God is the bond of perfection, for in Christ all things are held together. When our hearts are filled with the love of God, then the peace of God will rule in our hearts. The peace of God guides our heart’s desires, directing our steps and keeping us in the will of God. For when God wants us to do something, He will most assuredly give us peace about it. God wants us to do things according to His will, because God wants us to enjoy His peace. To which we were also called in one body. There ought to be love and peace in the body of Christ. Yes, it can be difficult at times to agree with everyone, and we may get annoyed and disappointed at times. Yet God in the gathering of His children can develop virtues in our life which He could not produce in any other manner. So, we should not forsake the gathering of brothers and sisters in Christ in the local church. We are not to give them up when we are annoyed or provoked. Rather we should express God’s love for one another and seek to work together to get the Word out, the message of Salvation, the gospel of Jesus Christ. For in Christ we can live compatibly with one another and help each other. And be thankful that God has saved us and brought us together as one body to serve Him in His love. For a grateful heart is very important to God. It is important for our spiritual life and our physical wellbeing as well. For a cheerful, thankful attitude of mind heals the body, not only our physical body, but also the body of Christ in the local church. When the brethren of a local church cultivate a grateful heart, it benefits the church in many wonderful ways. My friend, be filled with the love of God and His peace will rule your heart. And be thankful for all that God has done for you.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
