1 Corinthians 7:34-35 (NKJV) There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction.
What is the single most important thing in a loving marriage relationship? The Apostle Paul says it is to put God first. Putting God first should be most important for every husband and every wife. God is first, my friend, in every ideal Christian marriage. And it is legitimate and right, Paul says, for a married woman to devote more time for her husband and children. And likewise, it is legitimate and right for a married man to devote more time for his wife and children. That is why, Paul says, single people can devote more time to serving the Lord, and they have a wider range of service than married people. Why? Because it is legitimate and right in God’s sight, for a husband and wife to spend more time together in Christ. For my married friends, don’t let your service to the Lord, steal time away from your wife or husband. God understands that you need to devote more time to each other. God says it is legitimate and it is right.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
