Genesis 2:4-6 (NKJV) 4 This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.

The Book of Genesis is “the history of the heavens and the earth” but also it is the book of the families. For the word for history is taken from the word generations which also can be translated families. The Book of Genesis then can be described as “These are the families of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God (Yahweh [Jehovah] Elohim) made the earth and the heavens.” Elohim is the Creator of all things. And Yahweh has entered into a covenant relationship with man who He created. The LORD God prepared a home for man long before He created man in His own image and placed him in the home He prepared for him. All of creation was prepared by God for man. That was the LORD God’s purpose for man. But sin entered into the heart of man. And the relationship that man enjoyed with God was broken. But that is not the end of the story, for even before the LORD God prepared a place for man, God created His plan of Salvation. And His Son Jesus Christ agreed to the plan, He said “yes I will die for them.” Long before Adam, Jesus said “yes” to the Father, so that you and I could be reconciled with God the Father and brought back into the family of God. Friends, “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:14-19).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
