2 Chronicles 16:7-10 (NKJV) 7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him: “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the Lord your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand. 8 Were the Ethiopians and the Lubim not a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the Lord, He delivered them into your hand. 9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.” 10 Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in prison, for he was enraged at him because of this. And Asa oppressed some of the people at that time.
God sent a prophet to Asa to rebuke him because of his lack of faith. And it is why God judged Asa. Revival requires faith in God. Faith in God is what is needed for revival. Like Asa, we have every evidence that God will deliver us. Yet, like Asa, we tend to seek help from other sources, even from those who are against us. That my friends, is a demonstration of a lack of faith. When we put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer, we are saved. That is justification by faith. But life does continue on after we are saved. And we are to continue on by faith. My friends, we are saved by faith and we are to live by faith. For “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17 NKJV). God looks throughout this world for those who will believe in Him. Friends, we can believe in God based on His Word. “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full” (1 John 1:1-4 NKJV). Friends, we are saved by faith, and so let us live faith that our joy may be full in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
