Proverbs 27:9-10 (NKJV) Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel. Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend, Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity; Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.

A friend who can sit down with you, face-to-face, and give you loving advice is as pleasant as the fragrance of ointments and perfumes. His or her words of advice brings peace and delight to your heart. The fellowship that you share with a true and honest friend who lives nearby is truly heartwarming. It is a relationship that is better than your relationships with friends and family who lives far away from you. We all need friends who we can count on, but friendships must be cultivated and kept alive. And often our oldest friends, that is those who we have been friends with for a long time, are the best friendships we have. So, keep in-touch with your old friends and old friends of the family. For they are the ones who you can count on when trouble comes. They will be more helpful to you and have more sympathy for you because they are your true and faithful friends.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
