Psalm 37:7-8 (NKJV) Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.

What are believers to do when evil comes our way? We are to “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him.” It is simply wonderful to find protection, provision and peace in Christ when we put our trust in Him. Don’t be jealous of the prosperity of the wicked. Don’t get upset over the evil things that the ungodly do and get away with. Don’t worry about the wicked and ungodly. Don’t lose your temper over them. And don’t let them steal away your joy. For if you return evil for evil, don’t think that you can get away with it. Because the wicked and ungodly will surely do you harm. And because you are God’s child, you will find yourself in trouble if you do evil things. Remember, God chastises those whom He loves. Commit yourself to the LORD and rest in Him. Let Christ carry your burdens. Let Him bear it all for you. In Christ we can find rest. We can rejoice in our trials and tribulations, “knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4 NKJV). When worries come your way, it is an opportunity to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV). When anger begins to take control of you counteract it by submitting to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit of God “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32 NKJV). And when evil thoughts of retaliation enter into your mind recognize it for what it is, it is sin, and agree with God. For “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NKJV). Rest in the LORD my friend through simple faith in God’s Word.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
