Ephesians 6:1 (NKJV) Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Now, for little children this is a lesson of obedience. It is the same lesson for adult children as well, but there is a qualifier here, and it is “in the Lord.” Adult children ought to listen to and obey their parents counsel, recommendation, suggestion as long as it is in accordance with God’s Word. This is right because it is in accordance with the will of God. It is just and righteous thing to do, to follow the godly wisdom of parents who are walking in Christ Jesus. See also that while a young child is to obey his or her parents as a servant is to obey. But there comes a time when the child becomes independent. And this natural yearning for independence is by God’s design as well, and it is good. For it comes a time when a child must leave his or her parents’ care. Independence, my friend, is different from disobedience. But also see that Spirit-filled adult children willingly submit to the authority of their godly parents who are also filled with the Spirit and gives advice that are in accord with God’s Word. In doing so, both children and parents does the will of God.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
