Psalm 91:9-10 (NKJV) 9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
This is a wonderful promise of insurance against calamity. It is a picture of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who made the Most High, God the Father, His refuge and His dwelling place. Therefore, no disaster would strike Him, no calamity would get near Him. You see, my friend, the Cross was Christ’s greatest victory. On the Cross, Jesus fulfilled His promise that He made to the Father in eternity past, that He would die for us. On the Cross, Jesus completed God’s perfect, just and upright plan of salvation. God is holy and just, and therefore could not let sin go unpunished. God had to do something about sin, because all of humanity have sinned and deserved death. But we are not without hope. God sent us a Savior, His Son Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sins. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV). Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, sacrificed His life that our sins may be forgiven so that we may have eternal life through Him. Jesus was crucified for our sins. He died and was buried but He didn’t remain in the grave. For God the Father was pleased with His substitutionary sacrifice, and so God raised Jesus from the dead. And now because of what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross on Calvary, God the Father can extend His grace to all who would believe in His Son. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV).
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
