Deuteronomy 11:11-15 (NKJV) 11 but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, 12 a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. 13 ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. 15 And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.’
The people of Israel were about to enter a land that would be difficult to irrigate, considering they did not have the equipment in that day to irrigate a hilly land. Water is what the land needed. But to irrigate the land, they would have to depend upon the rain from heaven. God purposely put them on a land that had to depend upon Him for rainfall. In order to draw His people closer to Him. What difficulties are in your life, my friend, are you depending on God to solve those problems? Are you drawing close to Him? In good times and in bad times depend on God and He will direct your path if you obey Him. This is the example that we are given here in Deuteronomy. God told His people that they would be dependent upon Him for rain. And if they would obey Him, He would bless them with rain from heaven for the land in its season, and the desert land would blossom like a rose. Water is what it needs. The Jews are still God’s people today, but looking at the land you can see the spiritual condition of the people in relationship to Jesus Christ His Son. How is your relationship with Christ, my friend, is it dried up like a desert? Then water is what it needs. Humble yourself, be obedient, submit to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit of God. And your spiritual life will blossom like a rose.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
