1 Timothy 6:11-12 (NKJV) But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
These are virtues that a man of God, that is all believers, should pursue: righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and gentleness. Christians should be Christ like so that they will make people think of God and glorify Him. Therefore, Christians are to flee from conceit, stay away from impurity, never indulge in the love of money, don’t harbor a discontented spirit, and run away from foolish and harmful lusts. Christians should never have a love for sin, and they should never desire to do it. Christians ought to desire the things of God because He loves us. Our life story should illuminate righteousness, justice, integrity, the character of Christ, faithfulness, endurance under trials and tribulations, a kindly and humble disposition, and most importantly the love of Christ by letting Christ live His life through us. This is how we “fight the good fight of faith” and “lay hold on eternal life.” We as followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, ought to believe and believe well in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So that we can enjoy eternal life now by getting to know Jesus more and God the Father who sent Him. We were called to this eternal life at the moment we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our lives should make it very clear that we are a child of God. In order to do this my friend, we need to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength. Then my friend, Christ will be the essence of our lives, and our lives will be a living testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
