John 16:7 (NKJV) Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

Why was it best for the Lord Jesus Christ to go to God the Father? There are many good reasons why. And one of these is that Jesus’ purpose of His first coming was fulfilled. Jesus paid the penalty for the sins of the world with His death on the Cross. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45 NKJV). When Jesus gave up His life for the redemption of lost sinners, He fulfilled His promise to His Father that He made before time began. Jesus carried out His Father’s planned of salvation which God created before creation. Jesus accomplished the work that He set out to do when He stepped down from heaven and clothed Himself in humanity. And this brings up a second reason why it is better for us that Jesus returned to His Father in heaven. Because in the human flesh, Jesus limited Himself of His ability to be omnipresent. Meaning Jesus could not be in two places at the same time. Therefore, it is to our advantage that Jesus return to God the Father in heaven, so that the Holy Spirit can be with all believers in all places all of the time. The Holy Spirit of God is right with me today and He is right with you as well. Jesus said this is better for us, that the Comforter, the Paraclete dwells in us today. And Jesus said that the Holy Spirit “will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged” (John 16:8-11 NKJV). Friend, the Holy Spirit of God is leading us to Christ today. Will you follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and come to Jesus and be reconciled with God?

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
