1 Corinthians 9:25 (NKJV) And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

The awards that God gives won’t tarnish, it won’t decay, it won’t rust, it can’t be destroyed, it can’t be stolen, and it is not for this world alone. The awards that God gives are for our eternal enrichment. The awards that God gives are given to all those who have been faithful in their service to Christ. Therefore, we ought to exercise self-control in all things and discipline ourselves into subjection to God, so that we don’t disqualify ourselves. If we don’t, we won’t win. And when we stand before Christ at the Bema Seat of Christ, we won’t be awarded the crown of glory and life. Which are “incorruptible as the Throne, the kingdom of our God and His Incarnate Son” (Horatius Bonar). Therefore, my friend, we need to be actively performing the tasks that God has ordained us to do while we wait the blessed hope of Christ’s return. Every Christian ought to work for a reward. But don’t misunderstand, we do not work for salvation, for salvation is a gift given to us by the grace of God.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
