John 16:33 (NKJV) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

The reason for this dialogue with His disciples is so that they might have peace. They can have peace in Him when they would be hated, pursued, persecuted, falsely accused, and even tortured. The child of God can have peace in this life because our peace does not come from the circumstances of life, rather our peace is found in Christ. Peace cannot be found in the things that are outside of our hearts. True peace comes from within, when we open up the door to our hearts and let the Lord Jesus Christ enter in to dine with us on the Word of God. True peace is only found in the person of Jesus Christ. “In the world you will have tribulation,” Jesus made that very clear to His disciples. And it should be clear to us who also follow Him. Jesus has overcome the world at the cross on Calvary, over 2,000 years ago. Jesus’ victory is our victory. So, in spite of the troubles and problems of life, we can rest assured that we are on the winning side because Christ lived a victorious life. When we let Jesus live His life in us, we can experience His peace. When we identify ourselves with Jesus and come into a close fellowship with Him, then my friend, we will experience the peace of God in our hearts. Also, we can be of good cheer because the Holy Spirit equips us and encourages us to face the troubles in the world. Peace and joy are given to us when we abide in Christ. My friend, peace and joy in Christ is so important for us so that we may persevere through the trials and tribulations that we face in this world, and one day receive the crown of life. For “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12 NKJV).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
