Isaiah 6:2-5 (NKJV) 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” 4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.”

Seraphim are around the throne of God and they used two of their six wings to cover their faces so they would not gaze on God’s glory. With another pair of wings, they covered their feet in humiliation. And with the final pair of wings they use to fly to do God’s bidding. These celestial beings use four wings for reverence and two for service and they search out sin. For in the presence of God there is no room for self-glorification, there is no reason for pride. This is a requirement for all God’s servants, we must be cleansed of sin before serving God. Because of God’s holiness and righteousness, He will not compromise with evil in the lives of His servants. This ought to produce a deep conviction in our hearts and bring us to repentance. For the Lord Jesus Christ said “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5 NKJV). Only those who are born from above, having a change of heart and a spiritual transformation, have their sins forgiven and are given eternal life by trusting in Jesus Christ. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8 NKJV). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV). We are saved in Christ alone, by grace alone, by faith alone. And having been saved, born again, spiritually renewed, we are reconciled with God, for God has redeemed us unto Himself. And for all who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, “to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13 NKJV). For the holiness of God is indescribable and He is perfect in His mercy. God is still reaching out to us with His grace, and the whole earth is full of His glory. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV). God is holy, righteous and just. And God is personally involved with the salvation of His people through the shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ. “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV). And just as the doorposts of the heavenly temple shook in the response to God’s holiness, the whole earth will shake even more when the Lord Jesus Christ returns. Every knee shall bow to the Lord Jesus Christ “And every tongue shall confess to God” (Romans 14:11 NKJV). Friend, just as Isaiah realized his sinfulness in the presence of God’s holiness, we also are incapable of standing before God in our own righteousness. We need a Savior. We need the righteousness of Christ. We need to be born again. For Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV). Friend, we cannot enter into the presence of God because of who we are. We can come into God’s presence with boldness because we are in Christ. We cannot come to God on any other basis.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
