Psalm 61:1-2 (NKJV) Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

David says, “From the end of the earth I will cry to You.” When you pray, have you ever felt that God is way up high in the heavens and you are way down here on earth? That there is a great distance between you and God. David felt that way. He is trying to get closer to God. He wants to be led to the Rock that is higher than him. “And that Rock was Christ” (1 Corinthians 10:4 NKJV). But God is not far, far away from us. The Bible tells us that God is with us. God says “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV). And the Lord Jesus Christ said “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20 NKJV). We are told that the Lord our God, “He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV). And we are reminded of it in Hebrews 13:5. “So we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:6 NKJV). Friends, we are told to “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified” (2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV). The Lord Jesus Christ is dwelling within those who believe in Him. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, He comes to live within us. “And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness” (Romans 8:10 NKJV). We are made righteous because Jesus who died for our sins, lives in us. And Christ lives in us as a precious treasure (see that in 2 Corinthians 4:6-7). Because of what Christ did for us on the Cross on Calvary over 2000 years ago, we can join Paul and say “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20 NKJV). This is simply wonderful, God is with us. And so, my friends, when you come to the end of your rope, so to speak, just as David felt. When you are physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. When you feel yourself in a place of extremity where safety and deliverance seem far away. Know that God is with you, and draw near to Him in the sanctuary of your heart. There you will find Christ your Savior. And you shall receive mercy, and you shall find grace to help you in your time of need.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
