Luke 2:9-11 (NKJV) 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
It is wonderful to see a new born baby. Your heart just goes out to the precious little baby. It is a natural response of kindheartedness that goes from you to the new born. That is the way the Lord Jesus Christ entered the world, as a helpless little baby boy. And the Messiah’s birth was announced to shepherds who were watching over their flocks in the field. An angel of the Lord came to them, and a bright, glorious light shone all around them. They were stricken with fear, and the angel comforted them and told them the good news. It was good tidings of great joy for all the people. For in nearby Bethlehem a Baby had been born. This Baby was the Messiah, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This is the way God came into the world, not in power and great glory, but in need and weakness, as a little baby boy born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid to rest in a manger. The oppressed people of Israel were all looking for a King to slay their oppressors and lift them high. But their Savior Jesus Christ, the Anointed of God, the Messiah of Israel was manifested in a new born baby boy. This is the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ’s Incarnation. He laid aside all the riches of heaven, and made Himself poor for our sake.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
