Ecclesiastes 3:12 (NKJV) I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives,

This is a good philosophy for life, rejoice and do good. Rather than be brought down by uncontrollable circumstances and activities that are beyond one’s control. But even to have this attitude towards life’s inexorable trials and tribulations, one has to acknowledge the existence of God to even attempt to be a good-doer. As C. S. Lewis said: “My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line.” Jesus said, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God” (Luke 18:19 NKJV). The Lord Jesus Christ was telling a young man, and us as well, that if we recognize goodness in Jesus, it is because He is God. And it should lead us to the same conclusion that Peter gave about Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16 NKJV). And this realization should lead us to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. And the Lord Jesus Christ then shall dwell within us. Then we can truly rejoice and do good in our lives. For good is grounded in the very nature of God and God alone. And the beauty of it all, is that this good God invites everyone to come and “taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8 NKJV). I pray that you will, my friend. For “Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
