3 John 13-14 (NKJV) I had many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pen and ink; but I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face. Peace to you. Our friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
What is a good method to share the Word of God? The Apostle John says it is “face to face”. John preferred to tell you in person about God’s Word rather than write to you about it. It is wonderful these days how we can share the Word of God with people far away in different countries via the internet. But nothing can really take the place of speaking “face to face” with someone. It is an important part of our Christian life. We are to “consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25 NKJV). It is important for us to draw together in love around our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And study the Word of God together. Friend, if you have a Bible study at your church, attend it for it will help you to grow in your knowledge of God’s Word. And there is a blessing for you there in the group Bible study that you can’t get when you study the Bible by yourself. For we find strength and comfort in numbers. Together we can edify one another, as the saying goes: “iron sharpens iron.” And there is a special joy in worshiping and serving God with other brothers and sisters in Christ. The study of God’s Word helps us to draw near to God in faith, hope and love. And these three graces are meant to be shared with one another. For there is a need today, as it was then, to exhort one another to be steadfast in Christ in view of the nearness of His return. We ought to greet one another in peace and share the things of God, especially the Word of God “face to face” with one another for Christ is coming soon. And we ought to be getting the message of salvation out so that people will be ready for His return.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
