Proverbs 31:14, 27 (NKJV) 14 She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. 27 She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.

This is part of a description of a virtuous woman. She doesn’t mind making the extra effort to find the best bargains. She compares the quality and prices of items and buys the best quality for the lowest price. And she will travel outside of her own neighborhood and town to do so. Likewise, is true when she sells her own goods, she will sell high and make an honest profit. She is wise and prudent economically. She rises early and works all day. She puts her heart into everything, and she is not idle. She keeps her household in order and watches over them for their wellbeing. She assigns chores to everyone and ensures that it is done properly. She works hard and expects nothing less from others. “Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her” (verse 28). “Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come” (verse 25). For above all, she loves the Lord, and Christ reigns in her heart. She is a great blessing to all because her honor comes from God. Because of these wonderful virtues, she is truly beloved and respected. And likewise, the body of Christ, the church, which the Word of God describes as a virtuous spouse ought to possess all these excellent virtues described for us in Proverbs 31, verses 10 through 31. Then God shall be truly glorified by those who call upon His name.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
