1 John 3:16 (NKJV) By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

The Bible says that this is “The Outworking of Love”. This is how we perceive the way God loves. The greatest example of how God loves is when He laid down His life for us. This is the standard of agape love. God demonstrated His love for us, “in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 NKJV). While we were still enemies of God, He died for us. How great is the love of God? The love of God is beyond understanding. For many of us would give up our lives for our spouse, our children, family and friends, but most definitely not our enemies. Yet this is God’s love towards us. This is the real proof that God loves us. “And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” This would be easy, if we love our brothers and sisters in Christ. But unfortunately, it is not always the case. That is why we don’t see this spirit of love manifested as it should be in the body of Christ. God gave His Son to die for us. Christ is our example of love. His death on the Cross makes a tremendous impression upon the hearts and lives of believers. This is true of all who puts their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. And the Apostle John says therefore we are to be willing to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is how we truly love one another. My friends, “let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him” (1 John 3:18-19 NKJV).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
