Matthew 1:2 (NKJV) “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
The prophecy of Isaiah 7:14 included the foretelling of a unique birth, the sex of the Child, and the name of the child. And here, Matthew explains that Immanuel means God with us. Because the name of Jesus implies the presence of God with us. For the Lord Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man. For only God Himself could be the perfect sacrificial Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. These are 3 of the over 400 Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah that the Lord Jesus Christ perfectly fulfilled. That my friends should convivence just about anyone that Jesus Christ is God. For the odds of fulfilling just 8 prophecies of the Messiah is astronomically high, one in ten to the 21st power (10^21), or 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or one in a sextillion. In other words, it was not by luck that the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled all of the prophecies of the Messiah. These prophecies were given by God to let His people know exactly what He is going to do and precisely how He is going to do it. Throughout the Bible, God repeatedly demonstrates that He is all-knowing and He always keeps His promises. The point is my friends, when God says “whoever will believe in His Son Jesus Christ, shall not perish but have everlasting life”, you can count on God to save you through His Son Jesus Christ. It is a guarantee. You can trust in God. Salvation, reconciliation, eternal life is yours to have. All you have to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. There are no qualifiers to God’s promise in John 3:16. God means what He says, and He says what He means. God sent His Son Jesus Christ to fulfill His plan of Salvation, it was the joy that was set before Him. And the Lord Jesus Christ willingly, in obedience and in love, stepped down from heaven to make Himself poor, to empty Himself, to die for us that we might live. For you see my friend, God has done His part, He has fulfilled His plan of Salvation. And God offers you grace, because of what the Lord Jesus Chris did for us on the Cross. But you have to accept God’s grace by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The good news, the great joy for all people is that our Savior has come. But after hearing about all the things that God has done for you through His Son Jesus Christ. Will you believe in Jesus Christ? And will you put what you believe into action? Will you call on the name of Jesus? For knowing and understanding alone will not save you. You have to put your faith into action, by fully trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for your Salvation. This is why we celebrate Christmas my friends. It is to celebrate the birth of our Savior, who willing came down from heaven for the joy that was set before Him in eternity past.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
