2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NKJV) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Life is difficult at times, and especially if you are a believer because the enemy hates Christ who you follow. The trials and tribulations never cease and they seem to last a long time. Living the Christian life is hard enough without the enemy hating us as well. But when we begin to think in terms of eternity these afflictions only last but for a moment. And when we begin to compare the effects of our troubles which are worry, sorrow, pain, anguish etc. it does not measure up to the glory we will receive one day when Christ returns. “For us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” is coming someday. By comparison all the troubles we go through in life are light afflictions compared to that weight of glory. Therefore, we are not to fix our eyes on the things which are seen because they will pass away. Don’t focus on the trials and tribulations. Rather focus on your eternal Savior Jesus Christ who is leading you through your trouble times. Our Lord Jesus Christ has promised to bring you safely to your eternal home in heaven where you will be rewarded for your perseverance. Friends, the hardships that we go through in life are real to us, but take comfort in knowing that they are only temporal and the eternal God, Christ Himself, is right by your side. Keep your eyes upon Jesus, put your efforts towards things that have eternal value, and the cares of this world will fade away.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
