Romans 5:17 (NKJV) For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
Paul has previously stated in verse 14, “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.” Here Paul speaks of the fact that everyone dies. Death is inevitable for all men since the fall of Adam. Because all men inherit their sinful nature from Adam. As Paul states in verse 12, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.” All men will die a physical death because of their sin nature that they inherit from Adam. And if we remain in rebellion against God, we are already spiritually dead for in our rebellion we are separated from God. We are alienated from God, and we are dead in our trespasses and sins. Not unless we are redeemed by the blood of Christ, we will suffer the final death that Scripture speaks of, we will suffer eternal separation from God. Death rules over all men because of the sin nature we inherit from one man. Adam’s original sin, the one act, involved the entire human race. But as death came to all men through one man. So also does life comes to all men through One, who was fully man and is fully God, the incarnated Christ. “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1 NKJV). All who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, they “receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” For the Lord Jesus Christ conquered death on the Cross on Calvary. The sting of sin no longer has power over those who come to Christ for He paid the penalty of sin with His life. God has reconciled the world unto Himself through His Son Jesus Christ. Because of what Christ has done on the Cross on Calvary over 2,000 years ago, God now offers His abundant grace to a world of lost sinners. God offers life eternal to all who are dead in trespasses and sin. If they would only receive it. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 NLJV). God made a way for all men to be reconciled, but we must come to God by His terms. We must come to God by His grace through Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV). Life, my friend, comes through Christ alone by the superabundance of grace. I pray that you will receive God’s gift, my friend.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
