Jeremiah 6:16 (NKJV) Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

God invites everyone to come and judge for themselves what is true and what is false, which way is right and which way is wrong. So, they can tell which path leads to life and which path leads to death. They should base their decision on the truth of God’s Word. For the Word of God will direct their steps. And lead them on the path of salvation, not by works but in Christ alone. The Word of God tells us what is truth and what is in error, so that we might not be led astray. The Word of God gives us examples of how to do what is right through the lives of Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and many others like Joseph and David. Their lives all pointed us to Christ for salvation. We are justified by His righteousness, for our sins were forgiven through His shed blood on the Cross. There is only one way of salvation and it is through the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV). All paths do not lead to heaven. Therefore, let the lives of these Old Testament Saints, their old paths as the Scripture tells us, teach us how-to walk-in Christ where the good way is. So that we will find rest for our souls. Christ alone is the way of reconciliation with God. All the blessings of grace are given to us freely in Christ alone. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father. There is no other way, but Jesus. Jesus paid it all. All to Him we owe. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 NKJV). Jesus is the living way, the right way, the good way, the only way to God the Father. Therefore, we ought to walk in Christ, and we will find rest for our souls. For there is rest and peace, and joy in the ways of God. When our heart is established in God’s Word, our mind is peaceful and calm, and at rest in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. For Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 NKJV). Rest from the bondage of sin and the coming day of the wrath of God. For God has reconciled unto Himself all who believes, by faith, in His Son Jesus Christ. All who trusts in the blood of Jesus for salvation shall be saved and covered with the righteousness of Christ. “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8 NKJV). And walk in Him. Friend, don’t be like the foolish, stubborn and wicked people who Jeremiah was addressing. They said “We will not walk in it.” They chose to walk in their own evil ways and delight in it. Therefore, their destruction was certain, and their end was just and righteous for by their own free will they chose the path that leads to death. I pray that you will choose the path that leads to life. I pray that you will choose the Lord Jesus Christ. And that you will walk in Him.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
