Proverbs 29:9 (NKJV) If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.
When a wise man reasons with a foolish man, the foolish man will only rage and laugh. It is not possible to present the facts and the truth to a foolish man because he is blinded by his foolish ways, it is the core of his life. Therefore, he will never be persuaded because everything he believes in would come tumbling down. And that is something he won’t allow because of foolish pride. Therefore, he will answer with foolish statements. And if you are not in control of your own emotions, the debate will turn heated, tempers will flare and there will be no peace. Even if you are in control of your emotions, and you sense that the foolish man is becoming outraged, and you try to lighten the situation with some humor and servility. It won’t make any difference. Nothing positive will come out of the discussion. You best end the conversion and apologize for upsetting him. Then, simply walk away, and pray for him that he may see the Light.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
