Psalm 25:6-7 (NKJV) Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.

These verses combine the kindness and love of God by speaking of His lovingkindnesses. We ask for things of God and He blesses us with something even better. That is the lovingkindness of God. He blesses us with more than what we have asked for out of the abundance of His grace. David prayed for this during times of trouble. He would seek God’s forgiveness by appealing to God’s mercies and lovingkindness. David trusted God to be merciful as God has demonstrated such grace in the past. So, will the godly remnant of Israel during the Great Tribulation. And God’s loving kindness speaks to our hearts today. God’s tender mercies and grace is good for all the saints throughout the ages. As such, God is not through with His people, He has a plan and purpose for the people of Israel. God will bring them back to Him. David asked God to remember His tender mercies and lovingkindnesses, as if God could ever forget. But then David asks God to forget his sins of his youth. This is how many of us think about God. That He keeps tracks of all the things we did wrong, and forgets that He had forgiven us. Whenever our past sins come back to haunt us. We think that God is punishing us again. Oh, how quickly we forget that our sins are under the blood of Christ. They are removed as far as the east is from the west. God paid the penalty for it with the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. And our sins, past, present and future are forgiven forever. God is rich in goodness and mercy. God has an abundance of grace for you and for me today. If you are abiding in Christ and Christ is abiding in you, then you can say with assurance “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever” (Psalm 23:6 NKJV).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
