Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV) Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Like Paul we ought to consider ourselves as not having arrived yet. We are not to be so arrogant to think that we are fully matured spiritually and think we know it all. Instead of complicating things with pride, we ought to humble ourselves then we could live a simple Christian life by just following Jesus. It is that simple. It is worry free. It is care free. A life lived for Christ is an uncomplicated life. This is how Paul lived his life, by letting Christ live through him. When we are abiding in Christ and Christ is abiding in us, we can let go of the past with all of its mistakes. And we can look forward to the future by living in the present in the anticipation of Christ’s return. To that day when we will be like Him. Press on towards that day when our faith will be realized, and our hope for the future will be reality when we see our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face-to-face. And we will experience His love for all eternity. This is “the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” We are going to be in God’s presence. We are going to be like Christ. These are the things that we, who are saved by the grace of God with the shed blood of Jesus Christ by faith, are striving for. And when we come into His presence, we don’t want to be ashamed. Therefore, we need to abide in Christ and keep His commandments. Don’t fool yourself in thinking you can live a careless Christian life and not have to answer for it. For one of these days we will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of the way we lived our lives. It will behoove us then to start living for Christ by letting Him live His life through us.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
