John 1:14-16 (NKJV) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ” 16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

“And the Word became flesh,” that is the Word was born flesh. God, the Lord Jesus Christ, stepped down from heaven to be born in Bethlehem, in a stable and laid in a manger. Out of eternity, the Word became flesh. “And dwelt among us.” God of eternity wrapped Himself in human flesh, He pitched His tent in which He lived among us. This body in which we live is a tabernacle, a tent. And in such a tent, the Lord Jesus Christ lived among us. And while Christ was in a human body John and the other disciples beheld His glory. The glory of the only begotten Son of God. The Lord Jesus Christ was fully man and fully God. He was “full of grace and truth.” Jesus did not leave behind His deity in heaven, He was full of grace and full of truth when He lived among us. John the Baptist bore witness to the deity of Jesus. John said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me’” (John 1:29-30 NKJV). The Lord Jesus Christ was preferred before John, for Jesus was greater than John for the simple reason that Jesus is the Son of God. And His fullness is so great, He provides supplies of spiritual strength for all Christians in all countries and in all ages out of the abundance of His grace. My friend, God showers all of His children with His gracious favor through His Son Jesus Christ.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
