Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NKJV) Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

It is certainly true that your work on earth ends at the grave. It is true because we are in this physical body which is what Solomon is speaking about. “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.” He is talking about the physical body, not the spirit. It is the body that will be put into the grave. However, your spirit lives on past the grave. If you are a true child of God, you will go into the presence of the Lord. The Apostle Paul was confidant about this, he said “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8 NKJV). Paul contrasts being at home in the body with being at home with the Lord. Our spirit goes to be with Christ. Our body is put to sleep. And it is the body that is raised. “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:53 NKJV). Resurrection does not refer to the spirit, rather it is for the body. Knowing these things, we walk by faith. Always humble and obedient and productive while we wait for Christ’s return. And we will be with Him for all eternity. However, if you are not a child of God, your body will also be put to sleep, and your spirit will be cast into the eternal fire of hell. You will be absent from the body and forever separated from God where “There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Luke 13:28 NKJV). And your body will be raised as well but not so that it can be changed, but rather so that you can stand before Christ at the Great White Throne Judgment. There in the court room of God, you will be sentenced and cast into the lake of fire. The good news is that God has provided a way to avoid being cast into the lake of fire. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV). The Lord Jesus Christ is the Way, my friend. Enter into God’s presence by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
