Jude 20-21 (NKJV) 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Those beloved of God ought to maintain a life with God. How can we live a life for God? First, by “building yourselves up on your most holy faith.” Enjoy eternal life today by studying the Word of God. Get to know the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and get to know God the Father who sent Him. Study the entire Word of God. Study the total Word of God. This is what we need to do in these days of apostasy. It is what Paul urged believers to do, he said “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV). For “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV). My friend, in order for the Word of God to take root in your heart, you must study all of the Word of God. To know the entire truth of God’s Word is our defense against false doctrine and teachings in these days of apostasy. The entire Word of God is our most holy faith because it comes to us from God and reveals God to us, who makes us righteous and enables us to overcome the world through His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Second, in these days of apostasy, we can maintain a life with God by “praying in the Holy Spirit.” Paul mentions this very thing in his call to believers to put on the whole armor of God. Paul says “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:17-18 NKJV). We need to take up the sword of the Spirit, because we need to build up ourselves in the most holy faith, and that we may learn to use that sword. It will help us to pray in the Holy Spirit to praise and worship God with adoration. And it will help us to bring forth our petitions to God by means of the Holy Spirit. We need to let the Holy Spirit make intercession for us. For “Prayer is the Holy Spirit speaking in the believer, through Christ, to the Father.” This is how we should pray in these days of apostasy. Third, in these days of apostasy, we can maintain a life with God by “keeping ourselves in the love of God.” We are beloved of God, meaning we cannot stop God from loving us, but we can do things to keep ourselves from His love. We need to keep ourselves in the sunshine of God’s love and let the warmth of His love flood our hearts and lives. This is needed in these days of apostasy. And lastly, the fourth thing we can do to maintain a life with God is “looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” The mercy of God is the fact that God is concerned for us and cares for us today. That is why God extended His mercy to us and saved us by His grace through His Son Jesus Christ. And God has an abundance of mercy, enough to save all who believes in Jesus for salvation. Our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to live in an attitude of expectation for His return. And at that time, He will take us home to heaven because of His mercy. I am looking for that mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I pray that you are also looking for it.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
