1 Timothy 1:17 (NKJV) Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Paul remembers how God marvelously dealt with him in grace, and he breaks out in this tremendous lovely doxology for the King eternal, the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. And for God the Father whom Paul has not seen, and neither did anyone else. These are two of the Persons of the Trinity, the Triune God, the Godhead, the only wise God. For all wisdom comes from God. God is immortal, incorruptible and imperishable. God is everlasting, without beginning and without end. Paul always preached that the Lord Jesus was God manifest in the flesh. It is an awesome and humbling privilege to have a relationship with God Almighty the Creator of the heavens and the earth. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, revealed God the Father to us. But many of God’s characteristics are beyond our capability to comprehend because it is beyond our physical capabilities to possess the same qualities as God. For instance, how can God be in all places at the same time? How can God know all things, even the future? And how can God be One God in three Persons? These characteristics of God are very hard to understand. God’s Word is very clear that there is only one true God, but at the same time God’s Word refers to this one God in plural terms for example in Genesis 1:26 (NKJV) God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” In John 10:30 (NKJV), Jesus said, “I and My Father are one.” Jesus also said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9 NKJV). And Jesus said to His disciples, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19 NKJV). In this commandment, Jesus mentioned all three Persons of the Godhead, and gave all three absolute equal status and authority. Yes, it is difficult to totally understand and have a complete knowledge of the Trinity, the Triune God, the Godhead, God three in one. So, we come up with many examples to help our finite minds to understand it all. For instance, God has created man with a spirit, soul and body. Perhaps by recognizing our nature, it might help us to understand how God can be three in one as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, the mysteries of God are beyond our understanding. However, God reveals many of His secrets in His Word.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
