1 Timothy 6:11 (NKJV) But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

We are far from being super saints. Yes, we are only humans, but we can have a faithful and valiant witness when being exposed to temptations and not succumbing to them. We are exposed constantly to temptations, such as covetousness which seems to be the common thread among false teachers. The Apostle Paul fears for Timothy the corrupting danger of wealth. And he tells Timothy to “flee these things.” We all need this crucial reminder, for we are constantly exposed to the hazards and dangers of temptation. It is so easy to walk down a slippery slope, but so difficult to walk back up. Wealth and popularity can come easily to a man who diligently seeks them. But in doing so, he would lose his witness as a “man of God.” There are many ways in which a “man of God” can be influenced to abandon his faith. And at the top of that list is covetousness. “Flee from covetousness,” my friend. “And pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.” Keep the Word of God dear to your heart and live a life after the commandments of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lay hold of God’s mercy and grace. Clothe yourself in the righteousness of Christ. Be set apart for God. Live a life of godliness by faith. And remain in the love of Christ. Be still and know that He is God. Wait then patiently for the Blessed Hope of Christ’s return. Then you will be able to endure all sufferings for Christ’s sake. Maintain a powerful witness by having a meek and humble heart. These are the things we must do in order to have a good confession. One in which our testimony for Christ is backed up by a life lived for Christ.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
