Mark 6:30-32 (NKJV) 30 Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. 31 And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.

We all can relate to this. We have days when we are so busy at work and at home. Days when we have so much to do and so many people making demands of us. However, even on our busiest day, it would not come close to our Lord’s busy day. There were multitudes of people seeking Him for a wide range of reasons. Everywhere Jesus went people sought His teachings and healing. It is really hard for us to fully understand how really busy the Lord Jesus was. And how great the demands were upon our Savior. Jesus had to withdraw to a deserted place in an attempt to rest and let His apostles rest. We all need to rest from time to time from our busy days of life, even in ministry we need rest. William Kelly wrote in his book ‘An Exposition of the Gospel of Mark’ – “It would be well for us if we needed thus to rest more; that is to say, if our labors were so abundant, our self-denying efforts for the blessing of others were so continual, that we could be sure that this was the Lord’s word for us.” We all need some time to rest and be re-energized with the filling of the Holy Spirit of God.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
