1 Thessalonians 5:15 (NKJV) See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

This is the tenth commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ: “See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone.” Meaning, don’t fight one another. We all are members of the same Body, the Church. And how is the Church supposed to function properly if its members are fighting one another. Sadly, however, this is what is happing in the Body of Christ today. We ought to take what is said here in the Word of God to heart: “Don’t fight one another.” Christians ought to be so in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ that we will love one another. Not physical love. Not emotional love. Not friendship love. Rather agape love. The kind of unconditional love that we can express when we abide in Christ and Christ is abiding in us. Such is the eleventh commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ: “but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.” We see quite the opposite today, don’t we? We see a lot of people spewing out hate and evil in spite of all the good. Meaning, even if the other fellow would give everyone a million dollars and find the cure for cancer, they still would hate him. These people will use any kind of method to take him down. That is the pagan and heathen way. We also see a lot of people who believe in the philosophy of “do good to those who do good to you.” Which infers converse, that you “do evil to those who do evil to you.” You take care of those who take care of you. But to those who do you wrong, you get even with them in a much more harmful way. The Lord Jesus Christ said, “And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same” (Luke 6:33 NKJV). We as Christians are to live under a different standard from the standard of world. We are to return good for evil. This is the philosophy given to us here in verse 15. My friend, abide in Christ and He will abide in you. And you will be able to instinctively show kindness and love to other believers and to the unsaved as well. Because the love of Christ is within you.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
