2 Thessalonians 3:16-18 (NKJV) 16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. 17 The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is a sign in every epistle; so I write. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

This is a lovely benediction. In it the Apostle Paul prays for the suffering saints at Thessalonica, that they may know the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ at all times and in every way. We as followers of Christ are not dependent on anything in this world for our serenity. Our peace is based entirely on the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The world cannot give us true and everlasting peace, and neither can it take our peace away. For nothing can separate us from the love of our Savior. But we must appropriate the peace that comes from the Lord in all the circumstances of our lives. Peace is the calm of heart that comes from faith in Christ. A faith that perseveres in all circumstances of life. This is what Paul had done. And he personally wrote down his prayer to the Thessalonian believers, and all believers as well. That we will do the same through Christ who gives us peace through the knowledge of prophecy contained in Scriptures. For “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Peter 1:2 NKJV). When we grow in understanding of God’s Word, our minds and hearts begin to rest in His power, wisdom and love. And we can truly trust that God will really make all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28). Because His purposes will always be accomplished. For “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations” (Psalm 33:11 NKJV). Furthermore, “There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel–that will stand” (Proverbs 19:21 NKJV). As we learn more about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, we discover that God is always faithful. And we begin to experience His overwhelming love for us as we trust in His faithfulness. When we trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as our refuge, we can experience peace as only He can give. For “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High. Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust”” (Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV). When we hide away in Christ, staying in constant communion with God in all circumstances of life, good or bad, and submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit, then God can bring peace to our hearts no matter what comes our way. My friends, “May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.”

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
