John 11:9-10 (NKJV) 9 Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10 But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”

Just as the Father had designated the time for the rising and setting of the sun, and nothing can change that. The Father had given the Son a work to do, and nothing stopped the Lord Jesus Christ from fulfilling His purpose in the Father’s plan of salvation. This is the “hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began” (Titus 1:2 NKJV). There is a great principle here for us to learn. “For the Lord of hosts has purposed, And who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, And who will turn it back?” (Isaiah 14:27 NKJV). No one can. God’s counsel is immutable. God has given to each man a lifework. You can’t extend that for one day any more than you can stop the sun from rising and setting. But, thank God, you are absolutely invulnerable until your work is done. Nobody, not even Satan, can stop the fulfillment of the Father’s purpose in your life if you are following the Son. To fail to follow the Lord Jesus Christ is dangerous. Because Jesus is our strength, our shield of protection, our victor. You can go into the darkness of the world with Jesus, God the Son, and you won’t stumble. You will finish your work that the Father has ordained you to do. But if you walk in the darkness without the Son, if you are not faithful to God, if you are living in self-will, then you will stumble. Because you do not have the divine guidance of Christ to illuminate your path. Darkness has overcome the world today. If there is to be light in the darkness, then the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son must go there. For our Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son said “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12 NKJV).

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
