Proverbs 17:22 (NKJV) A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

There are a lot of people who are sick with a heart sickness, that is they have a lack of joy. They are always down. They dwell on missed opportunities. They live a life of regrets. They always concentrate on the negative. Their spirit is broken. This description applies to many believers today. God wants us to have a merry heart. God wants us to be joyful. For “a merry heart does good, like medicine.” A cheerful disposition does wonders for one’s body and soul. It energizes our spirit. It gives us an invigorating lift. Thus, our fellowship with other Christians should be fun. We should laugh and rejoice and praise God when we fellowship with others who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, the Messiah, our Savior. But laughter used to sneer at, to ridicule, and to embarrass is not healthy to both the one who is laughed at and to laughers. It steers the emotions of both parties. And it effects the laughers much more than the one who is laughed at. Because “hatred eats the soul of the hater, not the hated.” – Alice Herz-Sommer.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
