Romans 10:13 (NKJV) For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

This remarkable statement is drawn from Joel 2:32 which says “And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.” These verses enforce the fact that salvation is by faith. This makes it very clear that we are saved in Christ alone. To “call on the name of the Lord” means to believe in God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 NKJV). Jesus is His name because He saves His people from their sins (see Matthew 1:21). Jesus is the Savior, the Messiah, God the Son. When you accept the name of Jesus, you accept all that is implied in the person of Jesus Christ. When you come to Jesus, you come to Him for salvation. Religion can’t save you. A religious ceremony can’t save you. Good deeds can’t save you. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can save you. It is very important then that you believe in the real Jesus. For Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV). Jesus, personally, is the only way to God the Father. Either you believe in God the Son or you don’t. It is important to believe in the real Jesus, to believe in all of the claims that He made about Himself. When Jesus said “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus was not saying “No one comes to Me except through Me.” Jesus speaks of God the Father as being distinct from Himself. And the Father speaks of the Son as distinct from Himself. Thus, the Word of God says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Both the Father and the Son says that the only way to God is through the Son. This is a dogmatic statement, but a characteristic of truth is to be dogmatic. Truth is dogmatic. When anyone comes in faith to the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, he or she is saved. There is no one else for us to turn for salvation. My friend, if you come to the Lord Jesus Christ, if you believe in Him, then you are saved. For Jesus’ finish work on the Cross guarantees your salvation. For the shed blood of Jesus paid the penalty for our sins, and the Father now can extend His grace to all who believes in His Son. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The way of salvation is that simple my friends. But you have to call on the real Jesus, not a manmade Jesus. The Lord Jesus Christ made it clear the Father is distinct from the Son, and He is distinct from the Holy Spirit. When Jesus said “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19 NKJV). This is not an option. It is a direct commandment from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to all who believes in Him.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
