Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV) The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.
The righteous are bold as a lion. They have a clear conscience. They can speak freely, and they are not afraid of what other people are thinking about them. But a guilty conscience makes a man jump at the slightest question of his actions. For he fears that his sin will be found out. He knows he is guilty of it but he won’t admit it. He will quickly flee the conversation when asked about it. But one with a wicked heart will stand his ground and aggressively defend himself if he is called out for his sin. And in doing so, he has already condemned himself. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19 NKJV). The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, the Messiah is the light who came into the world. Jesus was the sinless, spotless Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. But the wicked does not love Jesus for doing this. Because they prefer their sins to being saved by Jesus, and so they reject Him. “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV). This characterizes mankind today. Men are lovers of themselves more than lovers of God. They are wolves in sheep clothing within the churches today. They go through the rituals of religion but they lack a changed life, for they are without Christ. They continue on in their sins and they call it good. And they get other believers to fall away in sin with them. My friend, we are to avoid these types of people. I pray that you have ordered your priorities in life rightly, and have chosen to follow Jesus, God the Son, the Messiah. I pray that you put on the righteousness of Christ, that you may stand before God the Father and men without fear.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
