1 John 1:1-4 (NKJV) 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

In the beginning God, Elohim, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, created the heaven and the earth. Until you are ready to accept that fact, you are not prepared to read anything beyond Genesis 1:1. Because the remainder of the Bible, the Logos, the Rhema, the very spoken Word of God rests upon that first verse. Thus, the Apostle John writes “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:1-3 NKJV). Go all the way back to the beginning, and you will find that the Lord Jesus Christ was already there because God the Son has no beginning. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14 NKJV). And now John wants to tell us about the incarnated Christ. John says we have heard Him, we have seen Him, we have looked upon Him, and our hands have touched Him. These are facts that John is telling us. We are to look to Jesus in faith for salvation. And we need to do more than just look at Jesus. We need to spend time with Him. However, there can be no true fellowship with Jesus Christ, God the Son, the Messiah if you hold a false view concerning the deity of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, existed from all eternity with God the Father. And when Jesus came down into this world, Jesus was fully God and fully man. The Lord Jesus Christ while here on earth was God manifest in the flesh. The Word of life, that eternal life, was not an illusion, but was a real Person. He was none other than Jesus Christ. Friend, you either have Christ, or you don’t have Christ. You either trust Christ, or you don’t trust Christ. If you do trust Christ, you have eternal life. If you don’t trust Christ, you don’t have eternal life. My friend, do you have eternal life? If you do Have Christ, then you can have fellowship with God. How? You may ask. Frist, we must know the Lord Jesus Christ. Not only knowing about Him, but to know Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. Second, we have to know the Word of God. Not only knowing the Word of God, but to be obedient to God’s Word and applying it to our lives by submitting ourselves to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit of God. When you have done these things, my friend, then you can experience joy while fellowshipping with God. True and lasting joy for our hearts can only come through a proper relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Joy comes to our hearts when the Holy Spirit of God makes the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son, and God the Father real to us.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
