Proverbs 4:24-27 (NKJV) 24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you. 26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.
The issues of life proceeds from the heart, but it is our mouth and our lips that will do the speaking. Sooner or later, our mouths will reveal what is in our hearts. Our own words will give us away. It will reveal what is hidden away in our hearts. Oh, how careful we need to be. Our words ought to be honest and straightforward. Our walk in life ought to be free from sin and anything that is unworthy. We must learn to keep our eyes on Jesus. A simple mistake, a bad decision, a wrong choice can ruin your whole life. We are forever confronted throughout our lives by our past. Therefore, we need to be careful about all things we say and do. How tragic it is to see people destroy themselves because they do not “ponder the path” of their feet. When we are tempted to do questionable things, we are to ponder the path of holiness, then all our ways will be well ordered and safe. When we walk with Christ Jesus our Savior, then our feet will not step into sinful things.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
