Job 12:7 (NKJV) “But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you; Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know That the hand of the LORD has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind? Does not the ear test words And the mouth taste its food? Wisdom is with aged men, And with length of days, understanding.

Job is hurting, and he needs comforting. He is frustrated with his friends; they are not helping him at all. Job longs to appeal to God directly. Job understands the sovereignty of God, but Job wants to plead his case. Job knows that God has the right to destroy some and protect others. Simply look at nature; the beasts and the birds and the fish shows God’s sovereignty. God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and all living things. God is omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. God is in control. God rules over all the earth and the universe, and all of creation. Whatever happens in God’s creation, God either made it happened according to His will, or He allowed it to happen. Yes, God allows good and bad things to happen. But don’t think that God does not have absolute power and knowledge. God can do anything He wants with His creation. God can take action and intervene in any situation and at any time. But God can also allow certain things to happen for reasons of His own. God is absolute in power and authority. And He is unrestricted in His sovereignty. Everything that happens, those things that God is directly controlling and those things that He allows, are the result of His permissive will. Yes, even when bad things happen. For our free choices to do right or wrong also demonstrates God’s sovereignty. Just as when God enacts His will, wherever and however He chooses.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
