Matthew 5:6 (NKJV) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

This might be used in a “Seeker Friendly” church to reach out to good people who are seeking God. But that is a misconception. Why? Frist of all, none of us are good, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NKJV). And secondly, the natural man does not hunger and thirst for righteousness. “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV). You see my friend; the natural man does not seek after God. God is the one who seeks after the natural man. Churches are to be God friendly, so to speak, preaching and teaching the entire Word of God. That is how the natural man will be moved by the Holy Spirit to a realization that the Lord Jesus Christ is his only way for salvation. The natural man has a veil over his heart and eyes, so he cannot see Christ. The Holy Spirit is the one who removes the veil that he may see Jesus and accept Him as his Lord and Savior. God is the one who seeks after the natural man so “that no flesh should glory in His presence (1 Corinthians 1:29 NKJV). “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV). “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30 NKJV). “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV). All believers who are filled with passion for righteousness and are driven by the Holy Spirit to complete the tasks that God has prepared for them will be abundantly satisfied when Christ returns.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
