3 John 13-14 (NKJV) 13 I had many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pen and ink; 14 but I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face. Peace to you. Our friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.

Some things a just better said face-to-face then writing it on paper. This is what John is saying here. And someday we will be able to speak face-to-face with John. In John’s three epistles he gives us an insight into life in the early days of Christianity. Christianity was on trial then, much like it is today. Oh, probably not as openly as back then, but nevertheless Christianity is on trial today. John also sets forth timeless instruction for every believer throughout the ages. Back in John’s day, the gospel was taken by foot throughout the land. And our feet ought to be moving out today to share the message of salvation. We need to get the Word out today. And when we great our brothers and sisters in Christ who help us along the way, we ought to great them by name in peace of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a lovely way to greet our fellow believers who help us share the gospel of Jesus Christ. And one day we will see Him and speak with Him face-to-face.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
