Jude 1-2 (NKJV) 1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ: 2 Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

“Jude” is the English form of the name Judas. Jude identifies himself as the brother of James. Both James and Jude were half-brothers of the Lord Jesus Christ. However, Jude does not put emphasis on this point, instead he focuses on the greater relationship that he has with Jesus Christ which is the spiritual. Those who are called, are sanctified by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and are beloved by God the Father. All who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are preserved in Him even in these dark days of apostasy in which we are living. The grace of God preserves us. It keeps us in His will. This is the only way we are going to overcome; by the blood of the Lamb of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My friend, if you are not sure of your salvation, then you are really saying you are not sure about your Savior, because Jesus said that He can and will keep you. For He said “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:27-29 NKJV). Your salvation is not determined by you holding on to Jesus. Because Jesus is the One holding on to you. Jesus said He has you in His grip, and it is a matter of you trusting Him. It is up to you whether you will believe Jesus or not. Your assurance of salvation rests upon your faith because Jesus has made it very clear that you have a sure salvation if you trust in Him. God has put out an invitation to everyone to come to Jesus Christ His Son for salvation. But you have to accept the invitation. You need to hear His voice and follow Him. If you have accepted and believed, then you are the called my friend. Because God is love, He is merciful and He has provided grace. My friend, God loves you. If you only knew how much He loves you, it would break your heart. Although God loves you, He did not save you because of His love for you. God saved you my friend, because of what His Son Jesus Christ did for you on the Cross. God can save sinners if they will come to Jesus and accept His salvation. This, my friend, is called the grace of God. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV). We are saved in Christ alone, by grace alone. In Christ we have mercy. In Christ we have peace. In Christ we have the love of God.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
