John 17:3 (NKJV) And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Does election leave out people? Not according to our Lord Jesus Christ who said “this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” My friend, do you want to know the only true God and Jesus Christ? Two things about what Jesus is saying. First, Jesus compares God the Father to idols which are fake gods. Jesus is saying the idols are manmade fakes. Second, there is only one true God. He is the God of creation, as it is written in Genesis. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1 NKJV). The Hebrew word used for “God” here in Genesis 1:1 is “Elohim”. It is a plural word which refers to more than two. Elohim denotes a plurality in God and allows for the Trinity, a Triune Godhead: God the Father (see John 6:27), God the Son (see 1 John 5:20) and God the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 3:16). Elohim is the one true God. And we see Elohim, the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in Matthew 3:16-17 (NKJV) which says “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”” Elohim, God from everlasting to everlasting. God has no beginning and no end (see Psalm 90:1-2). Elohim, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, always existed. Elohim, the ever-existing God, caused everything else to come into existence. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:1-2 NKJV). Then Elohim, God the Creator, spoke all things into existence. Except for man of whom Elohim, the Triune God, said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” (Genesis 1:26 NKJV). “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27 NKJV). But that is not the best part about creation. The best part about creation is that “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will” (Ephesians 1:4-5 NKJV). The best part of creation is what happened before creation. Elohim, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, came up with His plan of salvation, the redemption of mankind through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son. And if you believe in Jesus, if you trust in Him, and repent of your sins. Then you are one of the elect. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV).
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
