Malachi 4:2-3 (NKJV) 2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. 3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the Lord of hosts.
The Sun of Righteousness in the Old Testament and the Bright and Morning Star in the New Testament is the same person. If you have no hope for the future, then look back to a historic event that took place over 2000 years ago when the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross for you and for me. Jesus died for our sins, and we can trust in Jesus as your Savior. We then can turn our faces to the sunrise because the Bright and Morning Star is going to appear one day. Jesus Christ is the Bright and Morning Star for the church today. The Apostle Peter speaks of Jesus in this way: “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19 NKJV). The appearing of the Bright and Morning Star speaks of the rapture of the church when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will take the church out of the world. The Rapture of the church can take place at any time, because there are no signs for it at all. John Wesley put it like this: “He will appear as the day–spring from on high, before the morning light. Oh, do not set us a time—expect Him every hour! Now He is nigh, even at the doors!” Job said that When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy” (Job 38:7 NKJV), but then sin entered God’s universe. However, the day is coming when that Bright and Morning Star shall appear, and the Lord Jesus Christ shall take the church out of this world. The Rapture of the church will be the signal that the Sun of Righteousness, the Lord Jesus Christ, is coming soon to judge those who have rejected Him. The wicked will be put down. Jesus will break them into pieces like a potter’s vessel. And Jesus will establish His Kingdom here on earth. That is our hope. All of us who have trusted in Jesus for salvation, the Bright and Morning Star is our hope that Christ is coming to establish His Kingdom. And while we are waiting and watching for Christ’s return, we are to be busy accomplishing the task that God has ordained us to do.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
