Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NKJV) 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Those who trust in the LORD are blessed. As it is also written in Psalm 1:2-3 (NKJV): “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” Because his delight is in the law of the LORD. He finds joy in God’s Word, and he is blessed for it. “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3 NKJV). We have freedom in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. But this does not mean we are to be lawless. “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another” (Galatians 5:13 NKJV). Now that we are saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we are to live by faith. In order that our lives may be filled with the fruit of the Spirit, which is: love, joy, peace, long–suffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and self–control. As the Holy Spirit of God instills in us these characteristics through the Word of God, we are given the discipline and guidance of grace through God’s Word. Therefore, we are to read the Word of God. We are to study the Word of God. And meditate on the Word of God, that is to go over what we have read and studied. When we do these things, then the Holy Spirit of God can use God’s Word to shape our lives. This is the practice of a blessed and happy man. And the Word of God is the means by which we grow spiritually. Like trees planted by the river, God plants us, as born-again believers, in His Word. And from God’s Word we receive an abundance of spiritual nourishment to help us grow spiritually. We are nourished by the Word of God, and we are to give out the Word of God, likes trees that never cease to bear fruit in its season. My friend, whenever God provides you the opportunity to share His Word, the message of salvation, do it my friend. For there is a season for bearing fruit. We are always to be ready to give our testimony. And when we are in God’s Word, we will never lose our testimony for Christ. And that is truly a blessing from God.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
