John 3:16-18 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
We must be born again. And for that to happen, the Son of Man must be lifted up. Our rebirth is dependent on the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who was fully man and fully God. As the Son of Man, Jesus must be lifted up. Jesus could die on the Cross because He was fully man. And He could pay the penalty for our sins because He was fully God. Because of what Jesus did for us on the Cross, God the Father can extend His grace to a world of lost sinners. And all you have to do to receive God’s grace is simply wholeheartedly believe in His Son Jesus Christ. And at that instant that we believe, the Holy Spirit of God can regenerate us. And in our regeneration, we are born again. That is the only way in which we can approach God. Why did God send His Son? It is because God so loved the world. When did God first love the people in the world? God loved us before creation. He chose us before creation, before the foundation of the world (see Ephesians 1:4-5). But it is all important to see that God does not redeem us by His love. Rather, God saves us by His grace. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9 NKJV). Again, all you need to do, in order to be saved, is simply believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. That is, we believe in who He is; Jesus is God the Son. And that we believe that Jesus bore our sins and paid the penalty for our sins. And we have accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. My friend, you must believe that Jesus died for you. Jesus did not come the first time as a Judge. Rather, Jesus came as the Savior that a world of lost sinners through Him might be saved. You see my friend, if you do not have Jesus as your Savior, then you are already condemned because we all are sinners. We all have fallen short of the glory of God. We are already condemned to hell. And there is no possible way for us to save ourselves by our good works, our own righteousness, or with our wealth. Jesus is the only way to the Father (see John 14:6). Therefore, if you do not believe in Jesus the only begotten Son of God, then you remain in your sins for which you are already condemned. But if you will believe in Jesus, then you will not perish but have everlasting life (see John 3:16). Jesus, God the Son, came to save His people from their sins. And Jesus is able to do this, because He is Immanuel, God with us. In Christ there is no condemnation. My friend, will you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
