Colossians 3:17 (NKJV) And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

How should a Christian conduct himself or herself? What is the standard for Christian living? What principle ought to govern Christian conduct? The Apostle Paul tells it to us here. He says, “Do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father through Him.” At work, at home, and in all your relationships do things in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are doing things in the name of Jesus, then you are doing things right. This is the principle that governs Christian conduct. What we say in words and what we do in deeds ought to be in accordance with God’s Word. In this way, our words and deeds are rightfully done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Colossians 3:16 NKJV). When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are able to live the Christian life. How, then do we go about being filled with the Holy Spirit? We do this by reading, studying, understanding the Word of God, and applying the Word of God to our lives. When we keep the Word of God in our hearts, that is the Word of God dwells in us richly, then we are filled with the Spirit of God. For if the Word of God is dwelling in your heart, then it will manifest itself in your life. Then all that you do in word and in deed will bring honor and glory to God.

God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
